K+S: Goldman Sachs reduces stake as company raises forecast
Goldman Sachs has significantly reduced its stake in the German fertilizer manufacturer K+S. According to voting rights notifications, the US investment bank lowered its total shareholding from 12.48% to 6.74%. The reduction in directly held voting rights to 0.37% suggests that much of the previous position was held through financial instruments.
Despite the divestment, K+S has shown operational strength. The company's management recently raised its EBITDA forecast for the full year 2026, a move that contributed to a 7.7% increase in the share price following the announcement. K+S reported a 12.29% increase in second-quarter revenue, reaching 978.30 million euros.
However, the company faces logistical challenges due to low water levels on the Rhine and drought conditions, which may impact supply chains. German policymakers are reportedly considering exceptions to truck driving bans to mitigate potential raw material shortages and ensure product transport.
