ŁKS Łomża faces financial crisis and relegation risk
Polish football club ŁKS Łomża is facing a severe dual crisis involving both sporting failure and mounting debt. After narrowly missing promotion to the II liga in June following a playoff loss to Górnik Polkowice, the club has struggled in the III liga, sitting at the bottom of the table with only three points and no wins after 13 matches.
Financially, the club is in a precarious position. While official reports from late 2025 showed debts of approximately 607,000 PLN, current estimates suggest liabilities have risen to roughly 1.2 million PLN. Unofficial reports indicate the debt could reach 1.5 million PLN by the end of the year. The club initiated restructuring proceedings in September to manage these obligations.
In an attempt to stabilize the organization, President Tomasz Bałdyga has entered discussions with Michał Wrzos and Karol Grządka. Both individuals were previously involved in rescue efforts for Stal Kraśnik. The discussions aim to provide comprehensive support, covering both financial stability and the reconstruction of the club's sporting department.
