KSAT selected to support NASA’s EAGLE VSWIR Mission
Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) has been selected by Intuitive Machines to support NASA’s EAGLE (Explorer for Artemis Geology, Lunar, and Earth) VSWIR Mission. The mission, which is scheduled to launch in 2028, aims to characterize Earth’s surface by investigating factors such as ground and water temperature, snow reflectivity, vegetation traits, algal biomass, and active geologic processes.
KSAT will operate the IM 300 spacecraft, which will carry a Visible to Shortwave Infrared (VSWIR) instrument developed by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Beyond Earth observation, the mission is designed to test technologies intended to support future exploration of the Moon and Mars.
Under the partnership, KSAT will provide Integrated Mission Services, encompassing satellite operations and a global ground station network.
