Ksenia Tarakanova alleges mistreatment during Argentine detention

Ksenia Tarakanova, a Russian national accused alongside Konstantin Rudnev of human trafficking, has alleged mistreatment during her detention in Bariloche, Argentina.

Tarakanova reported being handcuffed and forced to sit in a chair for two days, an ordeal she claims exacerbated her existing heart and hypertension issues. She further alleged that female Federal Police officers compelled detainees to clean the Federal Operative Unit (DUOF) headquarters.

Additionally, Tarakanova stated that she was denied access to legal counsel or an interpreter during the early stages of her arrest, noting that the language barrier increased her uncertainty. She also described an instance of physical aggression by a male officer during her intake into the detention center.
