Ksenija Urličić, a legendary Croatian television editor, presenter, and screenwriter, has passed away at the age of 87. Known by the nickname ‘Iron Lady’ or ‘Čelična lady’ for her professional discipline and authority, she was a central figure in the history of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT).
Her career spanned over four decades, beginning in 1958. She rose through the ranks from announcer and presenter to editor and eventually the head of entertainment programming. Urličić was instrumental in creating several iconic television formats, most notably ‘Dora’, the Croatian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Other significant projects included ‘Sedma noć’, ‘Kruške i jabuke’, and ‘Treća sreća’.
Her passing comes just weeks after the death of her husband, Ivica Urličić, a prominent television engineer and former technical director at HRT. Colleagues have remembered her as a mentor and a professional who was dedicated to discovering and protecting new talent. Her funeral services are scheduled to take place in Zagreb.
