During a visit to the St. Dominic's Fair in Gdańsk, he faced criticism from journalists for joking about a regional Kashubian delicacy, ‘ruchanki z fiutem,’ with accusations of inappropriate humor in the presence of children.

He expressed high praise for the local products, including wild boar kabanos and traditional sausages.
