KSRTC bus attack in Karnataka prompts sabotage investigation

An investigation has been launched following an attack on a KSRTC Deluxe bus traveling from Bengaluru to Kasaragod in Karnataka. Unidentified individuals threw eggs at the bus's front windshield around 9 PM near Viduthi, an incident that reportedly obstructed the driver's vision and created a high risk of an accident.

The incident has raised suspicions of deliberate sabotage, particularly because a separate KSRTC bus accident occurred near the same location on August 8, resulting in the deaths of two crew members and injuries to several passengers. Rescuers at the site of the previous fatal accident reported finding egg residue on the vehicle, leading to concerns that such tactics may be used to cause crashes.

Transport Minister C. P. John has ordered a comprehensive probe into the matter, directing KSRTC officials to examine the bus route and the specific circumstances of the attack. There are also reports of complaints regarding frequent attacks on Kerala-registered vehicles in the Bidadi-Ramanagara region.
