Kerala KSRTC Bus Crash Near Bidadi Kills Two, Injures Over 30
A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus traveling from Kozhikode (Calicut) to Bengaluru lost control on the Bengaluru‑Mysuru Expressway near Avaregere Gate in Ramanagara district, close to Bidadi, on the morning of 8 August 2026. The vehicle struck a large roadside signboard/divider and overturned. The driver, Mithilesh, and the conductor, Arun, were killed at the scene. Thirty‑four passengers were injured, with several in critical condition, and were taken to Bharath Kempanna Hospital and other nearby facilities for treatment.
Police from the Bidadi police station and fire‑and‑emergency services responded, cleared the wreckage and opened an investigation. Traffic on the expressway was heavily disrupted while the bus and debris were removed. Initial reports suggest excessive speed and possible driver fatigue, but the exact cause remains under inquiry.
