KSRTC completes bus refurbishment phase as Karnataka targets Hampi cleanliness
The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has completed the first phase of a fleet refurbishment program designed to improve passenger comfort and vehicle efficiency. The initiative focuses on BS3 and BS4 category buses, involving detailed inspections of mechanical and electrical systems, seating, lighting, and flooring. Reconditioned engines have shown a reduction in pollution levels by approximately 80 to 85 per cent.
In Karnataka, the Tourism Department has announced the ‘Clean and Green Hampi’ campaign to enhance environmental conservation and visitor facilities at the Hampi World Heritage Site. Officials have been directed to create a comprehensive action plan involving public and tourist participation to manage cleanliness, plastic control, and infrastructure maintenance.
