KSRTC conductor suspended over student harassment allegations

A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) conductor has been suspended following allegations of harassment involving a female student. The incident occurred on a Priyadarshini bus operating on the Guruvayur-Ernakulam route.

The student filed a complaint at the Paravur police station, alleging that the conductor made insulting and inappropriate remarks after she requested a zero-fare ticket. According to the complaint, the conductor questioned her gender in a derogatory manner and used language deemed inappropriate for a child.

A preliminary inquiry by the KSRTC vigilance wing identified a serious lapse, leading to the conductor's suspension under the directive of KSRTC CMD Dr P. S. Pramoj Shankar.
