KSW changes heavyweight main event due to Phil De Fries injury

The KSW organization has announced a significant change to the main event of the XTB KSW 121 gala in Liberec, Czech Republic. Heavyweight champion Phil De Fries has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled rematch against Stefan Vojčák due to a cervical spine injury.

De Fries stated on social media that the injury to his neck and chest required him to withdraw, though he expressed optimism about returning to competition in a few weeks.

To maintain the high stakes of the event, KSW has decided to establish an interim heavyweight championship. Stefan Vojčák, the number one ranked heavyweight, will instead face Marcin Wójcik, the number three ranked fighter. Wójcik, a Polish representative with a record of 22 wins and 11 losses, accepted the challenge three weeks before the event.
