KSW sporting director explains matchmaking complexities

Wojsław Rysiewski, the sporting director of KSW, has provided insight into the complexities of matchmaking for the combat sports organization. He clarified that selecting fight cards involves much more than simply pairing interesting athletes.

Rysiewski noted that several logistical and financial constraints dictate fight selections, including athlete availability, injuries, budget limitations, and the specific number of fights allocated per event. He emphasized that matchmaking is not a “fantasy matchmaking” process, as many underlying factors remain invisible to the public or cannot be disclosed due to organizational constraints.
