KT leads international AI cybersecurity standardization efforts

KT is leading efforts to establish international standards for AI-based cybersecurity and digital trust. During the ITU-T SG17 international standards meeting held in Chongqing, China, the company proposed new guidelines for developing AI models specifically optimized for cybersecurity using general-purpose foundation models.

The proposal includes critical technical components such as cybersecurity knowledge sources and datasets for AI model development, technical considerations for specialized models, evaluation criteria throughout the development lifecycle, and best practices for continuous model improvement. These guidelines aim to enhance the reliability of AI security solutions and improve global interoperability.

Additionally, KT has completed the publication of a technical report regarding the components of a ‘trust framework’ designed to define and apply trust and reliability within ICT environments. The company plans to expand its international standardization activities in AI security, privacy protection, and digital trust through continued collaboration with global experts and organizations.
