During a KBO League game between the KT Wiz and Samsung Lions on October 11, KT player Choi Won-jun drew criticism for unprofessional conduct. While competing for the single-season hits record, Choi reacted to a pitch by throwing his bat and equipment aggressively, which caused discomfort to a ball boy.

KT captain Jang Seong-woo intervened by calling a team meeting to reprimand the behavior and maintain team discipline. Later in the game, Jang was seen comforting an emotional Choi in the dugout. Following the incident, Choi expressed regret for his actions, personally apologizing to the ball boy and posting a public apology on social media.

The incident occurred as Choi was in a tight race for the league's single-season hits record, trailing Reyes of the Lotte Giants.
