Kütahya Governor inspects Simav geothermal greenhouse and regional projects
Kütahya Governor Musa Işın has conducted site visits in the Simav region to oversee infrastructure projects and meet with local community leaders.
In Simav, progress is accelerating at the Geothermal-Based Greenhouse Organized Industrial Zone (TDİOSB). The project, valued at approximately 1.1 billion TL, has reached 90% completion in its infrastructure phase. The facility utilizes 22 geothermal wells providing water at an average temperature of 80 degrees Celsius. While the current plan covers 810 acres, expansion efforts aim to increase the total area to 2,000 acres. The project is expected to provide employment for roughly 1,500 people, with the first harvests anticipated by September of next year.
Additionally, Governor Işın met with village headmen (muhtars) in Güzelyurt to discuss regional needs. Key topics included ongoing road safety improvements on the 25-kilometer Güzelyurt route and the necessity of a new pond project. The pond is considered critical for providing both drinking and irrigation water, particularly to address local arsenic concerns.
