Kütahya OSB to establish regional natural gas meter calibration center

Kütahya Organize Sanayi Bölgesi (OSB) is spearheading the establishment of the TR33-ESKAM project, a regional technical service center dedicated to the testing and calibration of domestic and industrial natural gas meters. The project aims to address a critical lack of local calibration services in the TR33 region, which currently forces gas distribution companies to send meters to facilities outside the area, increasing logistical costs.

The center is planned to be built within a 500-square-meter enclosed area at Kütahya OSB. It is projected to handle approximately 24,000 meters in its first year of operation, with a long-term capacity goal of 60,000 meters annually. While the initial service phase will focus on Kütahya, Isparta, and Burdur, the project intends to expand its reach to include Afyonkarahisar, Manisa, Uşak, İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla.

The total budget for machinery and equipment is set at 29,484,000 TL. This will be funded through a 75% grant from the Zafer Development Agency (22,113,000 TL) and 25% co-financing (7,371,000 TL). Additionally, a cooperation protocol has been signed between Kütahya OSB and Torosgaz Kütahya Doğal Gaz Dağıtım A. Ş., ensuring that Torosgaz will prioritize the new center for its calibration needs in the Kütahya, Isparta, and Burdur regions.
