Turkey appoints new chief prosecutors in Kütahya, Kâhta, Şanlıurfa and Alaşehir

Savaş Kılıç has taken office as the Cumhuriyet Başsavcısı (chief public prosecutor) of Kütahya, pledging faster, more accessible justice and a firm stance against drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and cybercrime. Mehmet Çetin Atalay began his term as the chief prosecutor in Kâhta, Adıyaman, emphasizing efficient and transparent judicial processes. Murat Çalış was transferred from Artvin to become the Şanlıurfa chief prosecutor, where he will coordinate ongoing legal work in the region. Hüseyin Kantar started as the new chief prosecutor in Alaşehir, outlining plans to improve the speed and effectiveness of court services and to support new courthouse projects. All four appointments result from the 2026 Hakimler ve Savcılar Kurulu (HSK) Ana Kararnamesi, which reassigned thousands of judges and prosecutors across Turkey to enhance the justice system nationwide.
