KTM opens new assembly plant in Manaus, Brazil
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM, owned by Bajaj Auto, has inaugurated a new assembly plant in Manaus, Brazil. The facility represents an investment of approximately R$ 20 million in infrastructure and equipment.
Operating on a completely knocked-down (CKD) basis, the plant has an annual capacity of 20,000 units. It is dedicated to the KTM and Husqvarna brands, producing models across the motocross, enduro, adventure, and street segments. Specific models slated for production include the KTM 390 Adventure and various Husqvarna enduro machines.
The company aims to assemble 3,000 to 3,500 units by the end of 2026, with plans to scale production to approximately 7,000 units the following year. This move transitions KTM from a previous partnership with Dafra Motos to an independent industrial operation in the region. KTM currently maintains 12 dealerships in Brazil and intends to expand its network to 30 outlets by 2027.
