KTM confirms Luca Marini for 2027 MotoGP season

KTM has officially confirmed Luca Marini will join the Tech3 satellite team for the 2027 MotoGP season. KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer highlighted Marini’s enthusiasm for the RC16 project and his technical ability to assist in motorcycle development as decisive factors in the signing.

Marini, currently with HRC, will join a restructured KTM lineup. For the factory Red Bull team, Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio have been confirmed. The Tech3 team strategy focuses on a pairing of experience and youth, with Marini expected to be joined by rookie Senna Agius.

Beirer noted that the decision followed extensive discussions regarding the team's composition. The move is viewed as a strategic ‘restart’ for KTM’s MotoGP project as the series transitions to new technical regulations.
