KTM riders may regain engine RPM following Aragon MotoGP performance

Pedro Acosta secured a second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP, marking a significant performance for KTM despite ongoing technical considerations. Acosta, who has achieved 14 podiums this season, narrowly finished behind Marc Marquez. While his crew chief, Paul Trevathan, praised his performance as legendary, Acosta remained humble, noting that while the team is making progress and finding consistency in the top five, they are still working toward their first Grand Prix victory.

Following the resolution of previous engine reliability issues, there is speculation regarding KTM's engine specifications. While the RC16 bikes showed no obvious reliability problems at Aragon, rumors suggest the manufacturer may have intentionally kept engine RPMs lower to ensure stability. KTM riders may potentially regain 500 RPM at the upcoming Misano round. Pol Espargaro noted that increasing the rev limit would provide benefits beyond top speed, specifically aiding gearbox management and preventing the engine from hitting the limit prematurely.
