KTU WANTed Career Days 2026 to focus on personal meaning

The KTU WANTed Career Days 2026 is scheduled to take place on October 21 at the Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas. As one of the largest career planning events in the Baltic states, it attracts over 10,000 participants annually, providing a platform for students to connect with representatives from more than 1,000 companies.

This year’s theme, ‘Career for Oneself,’ focuses on the shifting priorities of younger generations. Research indicates that nearly 90% of young employees view meaningful work as a vital component of their satisfaction and well-being. Only 6% of Gen Z and Millennial workers define career success solely through higher positions or increased salaries, opting instead for roles that align with their personal values and strengths.

Kristina Skučienė, Director of the Student Affairs Department at Kaunas University of Technology, noted that the changing labor market—driven by technological shifts and new work models—requires students to engage in self-analysis to find motivation and professional fulfillment. Dr. Rimantė Sedziniauskienė from the National Innovation and Business Centre also emphasized that pursuing a career for personal meaning helps individuals better utilize their abilities to create value.
