Kuća maslina begins new olive oil production season in Montenegro
Kuća maslina DOO Bar has announced the start of the new olive oil production season on October 5. To support local producers, the company is offering free processing for registered Montenegrin olive growers whose fruit meets required quality standards. This measure is intended to mitigate costs for farmers, particularly following a weaker harvest of the Žutica variety, a prominent indigenous olive type in the Montenegrin coastal region.
Processing will take place at the production plant in Old Bar from Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 and 19:00, provided that appointments are reserved in advance. The facility utilizes modern mechanical cold centrifugation and automated packaging under inert gas to preserve oil quality. The company also offers to purchase indigenous olive fruits and extra virgin olive oil from registered producers.
The technological equipment used was acquired through funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Municipality of Bar. Beyond production, the region's olive groves, including approximately 110,000 trees in Bar and 86,000 in Ulcinj, serve as vital cultural and economic foundations for the local identity.
