Kuaishou releases Kling 4.0 AI video generation model

Kuaishou, the Chinese technology company behind the short-video platform Kwai, has released successive updates to its Kling AI video generation model. Following the release of Kling 3.0 in February 2026, which introduced native 4K resolution and synchronized audio, the company announced the official launch of Kling 4.0 in October 2026.

Kling 4.0 significantly expands video capabilities, allowing for a single generation to produce videos up to 30 seconds in length. The model supports up to 10 keyframes and can utilize up to 15 different reference materials, including images and videos, to increase creative control. It features a multimodal architecture capable of generating text-to-video, image-to-video, and video editing within a single system.

The latest model supports various aspect ratios and multiple languages for its native audio generation, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. While 4K output and 10-bit HDR are listed as upcoming features, the current version provides 720p and 1080p options. Users can access the model via a web interface or through MCP and CLI for integrated workflows.
