Kuala Lumpur extends Mega Bazar Deepavali to 30 days
The operating period for the Mega Bazar Deepavali in Kuala Lumpur has been extended from 21 days to 30 days to provide traders more time to generate income during the festive season. Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), announced the extension following the inauguration of the 2026 Mega Bazar Deepavali at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Recreation Centre in Brickfields.
To support local businesses, the cost of trading licenses has been reduced to RM400 to help traders remain competitive and lower costs for consumers. DBKL has allocated RM1.8 million to support Deepavali celebrations in the capital, providing infrastructure such as gazebos and large tents to ensure the comfort and safety of both vendors and visitors.
