Kuala Lumpur hosts Pokémon 30th anniversary and Nintendo pop-up stores

Kuala Lumpur is hosting major celebrations for the Pokémon brand, marking the first stop of The Pokémon Company’s 30th anniversary tour in Asia. The PokéXciting event takes place at KLCC Park on September 12 and 13, 2026, featuring parades, Pikachu dance shows, and a Pokémon-themed drone display set against the Petronas Twin Towers. A special turquoise Pikachu design has been created specifically for the Kuala Lumpur leg of the tour.

In conjunction with the anniversary tour, Malaysia will see its first official Pokémon Center pop-up store at Ombak KLCC. Additionally, Nintendo is launching its first pop-up store in Malaysia at the same location, running from September 12 through the end of December 2026. The Nintendo store will offer a variety of games and character merchandise, including items exclusive to Malaysia featuring Mario designs.

Local fans can also participate in Pokémon GO activities around the park, and Nintendo customers can receive random stickers by checking in with a Nintendo Account at the pop-up location.
