Kuala Lumpur Police clarify viral Sentul drug trafficking claims

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus has clarified that viral allegations regarding drug trafficking activities near the Sentul District Police Headquarters (IPD Sentul) refer to an incident from 2016.

The claims surfaced via a two-minute and 30-second TikTok podcast, in which a guest recounting their experience as a journalist alleged that large-scale drug activities occurred near a police station. Following an investigation, police confirmed the event took place on July 12, 2016, and that three police reports were filed at that time.

Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that such publicity is inappropriate as it can create negative public perceptions and damage the image and credibility of the police force. He urged the public to be more cautious and responsible when sharing information to maintain trust in law enforcement institutions.
