Kuala Lumpur public housing waiting list remains at 3,000 applicants

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) reports that about 3,000 households are still on the waiting list for units under the People's Housing Programme (PPR). Minister Hannah Yeoh said allocations prioritize B40 families and include slots for police, fire personnel and families facing special hardship.

At a recent ceremony, DBKL handed offer letters to 29 new PPR recipients and approved premises for 40 local hawkers. The upgrade of PPR Seri Pantai, part of a RM300 million package, was completed at a cost of RM2.59 million, covering lifts, roads, lighting, water pumps and fire‑prevention systems.
