Kuansing Government Plans to Make Selaju Sampan a Routine Event
The Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency government plans to establish the Selaju Sampan, or boat racing, tradition in the Pucuk Rantau District as a routine regional agenda. This initiative aims to preserve local culture and strengthen community identity.
Acting Regent Muklisin announced the commitment during the opening of the Selaju Sampan competition celebrating the 14th anniversary of Pucuk Rantau. He emphasized that the tradition represents more than a competition, embodying values of togetherness and mutual cooperation. To support this, the government intends to improve the organization and layout of the racing arena to make it more orderly and attractive to visitors from outside the region.
Muklisin also called upon companies operating within Kuansing, particularly in the Pucuk Rantau area, to contribute to the preservation of local culture through synergy between the government, business sector, and community leaders.
