Kuansing Police destroy 47 illegal mining rafts in one week

The Kuantan Singingi Police (Polres Kuansing) and local sub-district police units destroyed 47 rafts used for illegal mining (PETI) during a week-long operation from October 24 to October 30, 2026.

The enforcement included 13 separate operations across the Polres Kuansing jurisdiction. While the equipment was destroyed, no suspects were apprehended as the operators were not present at the sites during the raids.

Police Chief AKBP Hidayat Perdana stated that these actions are part of a commitment to maintain public order and protect the environment from the damage caused by unauthorized mining. In addition to enforcement, authorities conducted 140 mitigation and educational activities to warn the community about the risks and legal consequences of illegal mining.
