Kuantan Singingi prepares for 2026 Pacu Jalur Festival

The Kuantan Singingi Regency government is finalizing preparations for the 2026 Pacu Jalur Festival, a major traditional rowing event in Teluk Kuantan. To celebrate the upcoming opening and national independence, officials are arranging a 2-kilometer display of the Indonesian national flag along the Tepian Narosa arena, stretching from the start point in Koto Taluk Village to the finish line at the Tepian Narosa suspension bridge.

Acting Regent Muklisin has expressed a strategic goal to elevate the festival from a local attraction to an international cultural event. To achieve this, the government plans to utilize local youth proficient in foreign languages, such as English, Arabic, and Mandarin, to serve as reporters. This initiative aims to communicate the history, philosophy, and excitement of the tradition directly to a global audience and increase foreign tourism to the region.
