Kuantan Singingi promotes Pacu Jalur cultural heritage

The Kuantan Singingi Regency government is actively promoting Pacu Jalur, a traditional rowing heritage, to bolster regional identity and creative economy. Acting Regent Muklisin recently introduced the cultural tradition to officials from the Indonesian Presidential Staff Office (KSP) in Teluk Kuantan. The initiative aims to leverage the tradition to support local MSMEs, culinary arts, and fashion sectors.

In preparation for the 27th anniversary of Kuantan Singingi, a Mini Pacu Jalur event is scheduled to take place from October 9–11, 2026, at Kebun Nopi in the Kuantan Mudik district. Organizers are currently finalizing technical preparations and venue readiness to ensure the event serves as both a community celebration and a means of cultural preservation.
