Kubilay Kundakçı’s Father Accuses Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu and Mother of Role‑Playing After Son’s Death

On the night of 19 March in Ümraniye, Istanbul, 21‑year‑old Kubilay Kundakçı was shot and later died after traveling to a studio to meet Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, a former partner of musician Vahap Canbay. The incident led to a criminal investigation and a court hearing.

At the first hearing, Kubilay’s father, Cemil Kundakçı, said the mother‑daughter pair were “acting” and blamed Aleyna and her mother for the killing. He described his son as a helpful, well‑meaning young man and alleged that Aleyna had previously stated she would inform a new lover if problems arose. He criticized their behavior in court and said the trial would continue.

The case remains under judicial review, with further hearings pending.
