Kuching police arrest two after seizing drugs worth RM30,000

Police in Kuching have arrested a 55-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman following a narcotics operation at Kuching International Airport. The arrests led to subsequent searches at an airport parking area, a residence in Taman Sri Wangi, and a commercial premise on Jalan Datuk Tawi Sli.

Authorities seized approximately 128.30 grams of ketamine and 30,180 psychotropic pills, believed to be Nospan, with a total estimated street value of RM30,595.

Both suspects have prior criminal records; the male suspect reportedly has ten previous offenses, while the female suspect has one. A urine test for the female suspect returned positive for ketamine. The pair has been remanded for six days to assist with ongoing investigations under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and the Poisons Act 1952.
