Kuching to Host 35th ASEAN Veteran Basketball Tournament

About 500 veteran basketball players forming 30 teams from ASEAN nations (excluding Vietnam and Cambodia) will gather in Kuching, Malaysia, for the 35th ASEAN Veteran Basketball Tournament. The competition is scheduled for 11‑15 August 2026 at the MBKS Sports Village.

The tournament is sponsored by the Kuching South City Council, with Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng noting that six local teams will take part. Integrated into the Kuching Festival 2026, the event aims to promote healthy living, sportsmanship and regional friendship among participants from Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia.
