KuCoin VP proposes four-pillar trust framework for digital assets

At the CYPHER ASIA Intelligent Crypto Finance Summit in Hong Kong, KuCoin Vice President and Head of Risk Control Edwin Wong introduced a ‘four-pillar trust framework’ designed for institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure.

Wong stated that institutionalization shifts market benchmarks from simple growth and access toward governance, operational resilience, security, and risk management. He argued that ‘institutionalization does not replace growth; it adds a more rigorous standard of trust on top of it.’

The proposed framework consists of four dimensions:

• Legal and regulatory trust: Ensuring clear rules and defined responsibilities. • Technological trust: Maintaining the capability for reliable delivery and operational continuity. • Security trust: Utilizing security controls that are verifiable through independent validation. • Enduring trust: Demonstrating sustained commitment and accountability across various market cycles.

Wong emphasized that building a trusted ecosystem requires professional specialization across asset issuance, custody, and risk management, rather than a single entity managing all functions.
