KuCoin's off-chain payments jump 300% in first half of 2026

KuCoin announced that its off‑chain payment volume grew more than 300% in the first half of 2026, while the number of payment orders multiplied roughly 25‑fold. The surge was driven by KuCoin Pay, the exchange’s internal ledger settlement system, and a 60% expansion of its service‑partner and merchant network.

The platform now serves over 45 million users in more than 200 countries, up from about 5 million at launch. User growth was led by Latin America (170% increase) and Africa (30% increase). KuCoin also broadened its payment reach through QR‑code networks and local rails, and launched its KuCard debit card in Australia via Mastercard. The exchange has published Proof of Reserves reports for 44 consecutive months and undergone 14 independent security audits.

CoinGecko Research highlighted that the exchange’s focus has shifted from pure trading volume to security, compliance and real‑world utility, marking a broader industry trend toward trusted digital‑asset infrastructure.
