KUD Tkanica Linz receives Traun Integration Award

The Croatian Cultural and Artistic Association (KUD) Tkanica from Linz has been awarded the inaugural Traun Integration Award in the interculturality category. The recognition, presented by the City of Traun in Upper Austria, honors the association for its efforts in preserving Croatian traditions while fostering unity among diverse cultural groups.

Artistic director Diana Čančić and president Žarko Banović accepted the award at the Spinnerei Traun hall. Established in 2019, KUD Tkanica focuses on preserving the Croatian language, folklore, and customs—specifically those from Slavonia, Baranja, and Srijem—and passing these traditions to younger generations.

The award highlights the association's role in creating spaces where cultural differences serve as a value for community cohesion rather than a barrier. The City of Traun established this new recognition in 2026 to honor individuals and organizations that contribute to successful coexistence and equality among different cultures.
