Kudus Regency launches first simultaneous OSIS elections for 2026

The Kudus Regional Election Commission (KPU Kudus) and the Kabupaten Kudus government inaugurated a program for simultaneous student council (OSIS) elections – called Pilketos – across all senior secondary schools for the 2026 term. The launch took place in the Pendapa of Kudus on 28 July 2026 and was led by Vice Regent Bellinda Birton, accompanied by KPU Kudus chair Ahmad Amir Faisol.

The initiative, described as a miniature replica of national elections, will involve students in forming committees, nominating candidates, campaigning, voting, vote counting and inaugurating the elected OSIS chair. Officials say the program aims to teach democratic principles, raise civic awareness and improve future voter turnout, which previously reached about 86 % in the regency. It is the first coordinated OSIS election of its kind in Central Java and is intended to prepare young voters for upcoming general elections, including the 2029 national vote.
