Kučevo and Homolje celebrated through Miholjski susreti festival

The Miholjski susreti festival was held in Neresnica, within the Kučevo municipality, celebrating the cultural and natural heritage of the Homolje region. Minister for Rural Welfare Milan Krkobabić highlighted the area as a treasure trove of mystical customs, gold-bearing rivers, and magical caves.

Visitors explored Vlach traditions, which include oral rituals passed down through generations, such as mermaid dances and local magic. The event featured traditional handicrafts, local cuisine prepared under 'sač', and various pastoral competitions, including stone throwing and rope pulling. In a strength competition, strongman David Tomić lifted 120 kilograms. Additionally, workshops focused on the traditional handmade production of folk costumes were held to preserve Serbian ethnographic skills.
