Kuči residents seek police help over minors driving quads

Residents of Kuči, near Podgorica, are expressing growing concern over the frequent use of all-terrain vehicles (quads) by minors, some as young as 10 to 15 years old, on local mountain paths.

The noise and dust generated by these vehicles are disrupting the peace of the area, which is intended as a quiet retreat from urban congestion. Local residents report that warnings given to the young drivers are often ignored.

In response to numerous complaints, the NGO Kučka korita has called on authorities to intervene to prevent potential tragedies. Because the mountain roads are unpaved, traditional speed bumps are not feasible; instead, the organization is requesting increased police presence and assistance during weekends when traffic is at its peak. Officials have been warned that the difficult terrain poses a high risk of vehicle rollovers and serious accidents.
