Kullagh Creek Wildfire Evacuation Alert Lifted in British Columbia

The Thompson‑Nicola Regional District announced on June 18, 2026 that the evacuation alert for the Kullagh Creek wildfire between Kamloops and Merritt has been downgraded to “all clear.” The fire, which burned 149 hectares near Stump Lake on Highway 5A, prompted an alert for 31 properties across Electoral Areas J (Copper Desert Country), L (Grasslands) and M (Beautiful Nicola Valley — North). The district confirmed the B.C. Wildfire Service now lists the blaze as “Under Control,” adding that the alert could be reinstated if conditions change.

No injuries were reported, and residents were advised to stay informed through official emergency notices.
