Kultur for fjella organizes walks regarding wind power plans

The “Kultur for fjella” event is organizing cultural-historical walks in Breidalen and Storholsheia this weekend. Organized by Motvind Sunnfjord og Ytre Sogn in collaboration with Balestrand and Høyanger Turlag, the initiative focuses on local history and the environmental implications of planned wind power projects in the Høyangerfjella region.

Participants can choose between two routes. One walk explores the history of power development in Breidalen, including dam construction and tunnel drilling, ending at Storholsheia. At the final stop, discussions will cover planned project areas, local wildlife, bird life, and cultural heritage. An alternative route follows the pipes to the Hjetlandsbassenget, providing information regarding Statkraft’s K5 power plant.
