Kulturarena Jena reaches 30,000 visitors at festival half‑time

The Kulturarena summer festival in Jena has attracted roughly 30,000 visitors by its mid‑season point, according to the organisers. This marks a modest increase from the 27,500 recorded at the same stage last year.

Ten events have sold out so far, including the theatre production “Kassandra: coming of age at the end of the world”, concerts by Tanita Tikaram, Max Herre & Joy Denalane, Nils Landgren with the Jenaer Philharmonie, and the “Rocket Men” shows in the planetarium. Other popular programmes such as the opening “Soulphonic Adventures”, the film premiere of the Thüringen crime series “Cash”, and the children’s arena performance by Compagnie Freikopf have also been near capacity. The festival will continue with further concerts and screenings until 23 August.
