Security camera footage released by Kumamoto General Hospital captures medical staff protecting a patient during a powerful earthquake in Kumamoto, Japan. The earthquake occurred on July 28.

At the time of the tremor, four surgeries were underway. The footage shows medical equipment swaying violently and lights flickering as staff members struggled to secure the operating table and protect the patient. One staff member was seen being thrown to the floor while attempting to manage moving equipment, while another worked to ensure an evacuation route remained accessible.

Despite the intense shaking, the medical team successfully completed all four surgeries. Following the event, the hospital temporarily suspended some services but resumed normal outpatient operations on August 5.
