Kumamoto to host educational festivals and work experience programs in 2026

Various educational and community events are scheduled to take place in Kumamoto in late 2026.

Kumamoto National College of Technology will host its 24th Denpasai festival on October 24–25, 2026. The event features stage performances, student-run stalls, departmental exhibitions, and science experiments. This year’s festival includes a collaboration with Ibaraki National College of Technology, utilizing digital technology to connect the two institutions. The festival also offers consultation sessions for prospective students.

Additionally, the “Out of KidZania in Kumamoto 2026” program will be held on November 28–29, 2026, at Kumamoto Castle Hall and other locations. Organized by Kumamoto Asahi Broadcasting in cooperation with Kumamoto City, the event serves as part of the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake Recovery Support Project. The program offers elementary and junior high school students the opportunity to experience 24 different types of jobs, such as firefighters and disaster response communication engineers.
