Japanese municipal councils pass various budget and ordinance amendments

Various municipal councils in Japan have passed several legislative measures, budget amendments, and appointments during their recent sessions.

In Kumano City, the council approved three additional property acquisition proposals totaling approximately 64.6 million yen. This includes water-recycling and assembly-type hot water shower systems for disaster prevention, as well as a new full concert grand piano for the Civic Hall to replace an aging instrument.

Daisen City Council approved ordinance revisions that will lead to price increases for municipal ski resorts and parks. In Kosaka Town, the council passed a measure to raise the maximum admission fee for the Korakukan facility to encourage revenue growth through designated management.

Other administrative actions include the Ikawa Town Council approving an ordinance to increase salaries for special position officials starting in April 2026, and the Kazuno City Council unanimously agreeing to the reappointment of Deputy Mayor Naomi Masuya through October 2030.
