Kumanovo Basic Court employees demand dismissal of president

Employees at the Kumanovo Basic Court in North Macedonia have filed a formal complaint with the Judicial Council seeking the dismissal of court president Snezhana Maneva. The complaint, signed by 75 of the 90 court administration employees, alleges systematic mobbing, verbal abuse, and pressure.

Trpe Dejanovski, head of the UPOZ union, stated that staff have faced insults on personal, religious, and ethnic grounds for years, specifically targeting Albanian judges and employees. Dejanovski cited derogatory language used by Maneva and noted that a 2023 Judicial Council report had previously identified disrupted interpersonal relations within the court.

In a written statement, Maneva denied all allegations, calling the claims of illegal behavior and a hostile work atmosphere “entirely inaccurate and untrue.” She maintained that her leadership complies with all legal regulations and judicial service laws. The union has threatened protests and potential strikes if the Judicial Council does not take concrete action within eight days.
