Kumanovo drug combat unit disbanded due to poor results

The entire drug combat unit within the Kumanovo Sector for Internal Affairs has been disbanded following eleven weeks of unsatisfactory results in combating illegal drug trafficking and distribution.

Following a proposal by Director Aleksandar Janev and approval from Minister of Internal Affairs Panche Toshkovski, all members of the regional organizational unit were dismissed and reassigned to different positions. The unit was responsible for the Kumanovo, Kratovo, and Kriva Palanka areas.

Janev emphasized that law enforcement must produce concrete actions, including identified perpetrators and drug seizures, rather than just paperwork, stating, “When results are lacking, responsibility follows, without excuses and privileges.” New police officers are being appointed to replace the disbanded unit.
