Kumanovo residents file 160 compensation claims after severe storms
Citizens and legal entities in Kumanovo have submitted a total of 160 requests for compensation following severe weather that recently impacted the region. The claims primarily involve damage to roofs, building facades, vehicles, and flooding caused by atmospheric waters.
Following an on-site assessment, the Damage Assessment Commission will prepare a report to be submitted to the relevant government commission. Kumanovo Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski noted that the storm also damaged road infrastructure and traffic signaling, including the destruction of three traffic lights and a main control box on ‘Treta MUB’ Boulevard.
Municipal institutions have also been affected. Aleksandar Kërstevski, Director of the Kumanovo Nursing Home, reported damage to windows, installations, and the roof, which was partially addressed through donations. More than a month after the storm, recovery efforts continue, including the removal of fallen trees and repairs to the electrical distribution network.
