Kumar Sangakkara alleges discrimination by Ryanair staff in Dublin

Former Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara has accused Ryanair gate personnel at Dublin Airport of discriminatory and threatening behavior toward him and his family.

In a post on X, the 48-year-old former cricketer described the experience as “shocking” and “unacceptable,” specifically citing the tone of address used by staff and the mishandling of procedures. While Sangakkara did not provide specific details regarding the circumstances of the confrontation, he noted it was his first bad experience in Dublin.

The allegations drew responses from others, including Sanjiva Weerawarana, who shared his own experiences of discrimination while living and traveling in the West. As of the latest reports, Ryanair has not provided an independent confirmation of its response to the allegations.
